My youngest son and two of his best friends all had birthdays last month. So it was birthday party after birthday party in February. Thankfully, I got wise early on in the month and created a bunch of cards so I wasn’t waiting until the last minute as is my usual way.
So, I grabbed some card bases from my box of Bazzill cards and envelopes. Then I went through my patterned paper scraps and found a fun blue and grey “boy” pattern full of video game symbols. You can see a good portion of the pattern in this first card.
After I made that card, I had some smaller scraps left over. While none of them were big enough to use another card like the one above, there were enough circles I could punch out and use as an accent on a card. I punched out as many as I could and paired them with scraps of cardstocks and stickers from SRM Press.
Now some of the circles on the scraps of patterned paper went a little bit off the page. So that’s part of what led to the layering of the circle to cover up the flat sides. I even placed one right at the edge of the card like it meant for it to be cut off. I used 3D foam adhesives of varying heights to get the layers just right.
It was so nice to have these cards ready to go on party day! I hope you are inspired to create a few cards of your own with some of your favorite scraps. I’d love to see what you create. Link it up here in the comments if you create a card.
